To create Monotypes I paint onto plexiglass, layering and scratching away paint to create a richly textured image. The hard surface
of the plexiglass allows me to move the paint around and develop the image in a way I could never do directly on to paper.
The painting is transferred to paper by running the painted plexiglass and paper through a hand-pulled press.
This results in only one print, thus the name ‘Mono’ type.
